About Homecart

An app from one household, for households.

Why Homecart exists

It started with three perfectly ordinary annoyances. The milk was gone, although nobody had put it on the list. At our supermarket the drinks are by the entrance, but on the list they were at the bottom. And after New Year's Eve someone sat there with a calculator working out who still owed whom. None of the apps we tried solved even one of those. So we built one ourselves and used it every day for over a year before it reached the App Store.

The one job

Never stand in the store not knowing what's missing. And never buy twice.

That's all Homecart is supposed to do. The list, the sections and stores, the suggestions and the settle-up are in because they help with exactly that. We also had recipes, a pantry and spending statistics in for a while. They're gone again, because nobody opened them in daily life.

What Homecart sticks to

Who's behind it

Homecart is developed and run by Christian Köbke, without investors and without a growth target that could bend the app. Wishes and observations from everyday life are welcome: info@homecart.app. Release notes are under What's new, and media will find the press page.
