Inviting someone
Settings → Sharing & household shows your code and a QR code. The other person types the code on first launch or scans the QR code with the iPhone camera; Homecart opens right in your household. “Invite someone” sends code and text as a message. Codes have 6 or 8 characters (older households 6, newer 8); case doesn't matter.
Joining a household
Choose “Join a household” on first launch and enter the code, or later under Settings → Sharing & household → Join. Whatever was on your list is carried over. Once connected, all devices in the household sync every few seconds while the app is in front.
Who added it?
Items from others carry a coloured initial with the first name. Change yours under Settings → Account & backup → Your name. The member list is under Sharing & household.
“I'll bring it”: assigning items
Long-press a row → I'll bring it, or assign it to another member. The initial on the row shows who's getting it. You can choose to get notifications only for such assignments (see Notifications).
Removing a member
Sharing & household → tap member → Remove. The device loses access immediately; its entries stay, with name. The invitation code changes, old invitations no longer work. Pass the new code to anyone still to join.
Switching households
Settings → Account & backup → Switch to another household and enter the other code. Your Apple backup moves with you. A device belongs to exactly one household; for people outside it, use guest groups.
